Yoga Class Schedule - Summer Term 2009
(June 29th – August 20th)

Discover the benefits and joy of yoga taught in the style of the Iyengar tradition. Classes and Workshops emphasizes proper alignment, and the use of props (belts and blocks) allows adults and youth with flexibility limitations to safely perform poses with the correct alignement.

Yoga is a practice of effort, ease, relaxation and balance. The skills we learn help us gain a strong and healthy body. Integrating quietness and action we create awareness and a steady mind.
Tumbleville Studios currently offers yoga classes in the 4th Ave home studio in SW Portland.

Working From the Core
$30
We will use yoga and movement to explore toning the deeper abdominal muscles of the stomach and spine. This two-hour workshop will teach you asanas to strengthen our standing and sitting posture. You will learn active poses to increase abdominal strength, resulting in better muscle tone, stronger back and belly muscles with improved balance and health. The workshop is appropriate for students of all levels. At the close of each session there will be a period of rest in savasana.

Back Bending Basics
$30
We will use yoga and movement to explore stretching from the shoulders while lengthening the upper arm muscles and unfolding the hip region. This two-hour workshop will teach you asanas to strengthen & lengthen the trunk with proper alignment to the lumbar spine. You will learn active poses to lengthen the back and the stomach region, resulting in better muscle tone, deeper breathing with improved posture. The workshop is appropriate for students who have completed a year of alignment based yoga classes
 

Private lessons available
Cost is $60 an hour.

Drop-In Rate
Cost: $15 a class. Please bring cash or check. Call to make sure we have space.

Make-Ups
We encourage students to make up missed classes. Classes may be made up any time during the current term. In lieu of making up the class yourself, you may bring a friend to your class.
